This is the moment a TV journalist suddenly fainted during a live TV interview with a top politician. Turkish reporter Abdulkadir Unal collapsed as he was speaking with former government minister and AKP General Vice-President, Mehdi Eker.
During the interview Mr Unal raised his hand as if to rest his head on it but then collapsed and fell sideways onto the floor.
A startled Mr Eker was stunned and stopped what he was saying mid-sentence as people rushed to check on the journalist.
Mr Unal, the general editor of Channel 5 in Turkey, and fellow journalists Hasan Yavuz Bakir of Cay TV and Zeki Akbiyik of Firat Channel were interviewing the politician on Turkey’s popular Anatolia Asks show on the TRT News Channel.
The show immediately went to commercials after Mr Unal fainted. He was later taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for a check-up.
The show later resumed and Mr Eker told viewers: “This is the first time you have experienced something like this. “We have sent our friend to the hospital. It’s probably a flu infection. He’s tired too. He may have fainted for this reason.
“Everyone should be careful about this in everyday life. I wish everyone healthy days. I pass on my best wishes. Do not worry viewers. Our friend is in the hospital, treatment is ongoing.”
